Google Pay In January 2017, Google announced that it was rebranding Android Pay and Google Wallet as Google Pay. Originally a mobile wallet, Google Wallet changed in early 2016. In April 2017, PayPal announced that customers could use PayPal through Android Pay. Currently, both of these options are available as Google Pay.
